Terms of service
1. OVERVIEW
KRD Catering Equipment Ltd supplies commercial catering equipment designed for professional use. Our core service is to business and trade customers, however individual consumers are welcome to purchase from us on the basis that they accept our commercial terms.
By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, as well as our Delivery Policy and Returns Policy, which together form the basis of our contract of sale. All purchases are governed by commercial trading terms including parts-only warranty, return eligibility conditions, and engineer report requirements for fault claims.
Where consumer rights apply under UK law, these will be respected, but our commercial procedures apply to all buyers.
Throughout these Terms, references to “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to KRD Catering Equipment.
2. Scope of Terms and Business Classification
2.1 Commercial supplier. We are a business to business supplier of commercial equipment. Our products are designed for professional, non-domestic applications.
2.2 Consumers may purchase on commercial terms. Individuals may buy from us provided they accept that all sales proceed on our commercial terms, including parts-only warranty and the procedures set out in these Terms, the Delivery Policy, and the Returns Policy. Where mandatory consumer rights apply under UK law, we will comply, but our commercial procedures and evidential requirements apply to all buyers.
2.3 Acceptance of terms. By placing an order you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions, the Delivery Policy, and the Returns Policy, and that the goods are suitable for your intended commercial use.
2.4 Precedence over customer terms. Any terms proposed by you are excluded. No variation to these Terms is binding unless agreed by us in writing.
2.5 Product suitability and installation. Our goods require appropriate site services and professional installation. You are responsible for verifying dimensions, utilities, ventilation, and site access. Gas appliances must be installed by Gas Safe registered engineers, electrical appliances by qualified electricians, and water-fed appliances by qualified plumbers. Failure to meet these standards may void warranty and any claim.
2.6 Linked policies form part of the contract. Our Delivery Policy and Returns Policy are integral to these Terms and set out practical rules on delivery, damage reporting, change of mind returns, redelivery fees, and packaging requirements.
3. Orders and Contract Formation
3.1 Offer and acceptance. Your order is an offer to buy. A binding contract is formed only when we issue an explicit order acceptance email or when we dispatch the goods, whichever occurs first. Automatic order acknowledgements are not accepted.
3.2 Right to refuse or cancel. We may refuse or cancel any order prior to dispatch for reasons including stock unavailability, risk or security concerns, pricing or description errors, misuse of our site, breach of these Terms, or a history of abusive or fraudulent activity. If payment has been taken, we will refund it.
3.3 Accuracy of information. You must provide correct delivery details, contact details, and any access information. You are responsible for ensuring the goods will fit through access points and into their intended location. See Delivery Policy for kerbside delivery rules and redelivery fees.
3.4 Pricing and VAT. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT unless stated. VAT is added at the applicable rate. We may correct obvious pricing or description errors and either cancel the order with a refund or invite you to proceed at the correct price.
3.5 Security checks and payment. Orders may be subject to payment verification and anti-fraud checks. We may request further identification or decline to supply where checks are unsatisfactory.
3.6 Availability and partial shipment. Lead times shown are estimates. We may deliver in instalments. If an item is unavailable after you order, we may cancel that item with a refund or propose an alternative. Partial delivery does not cancel the remaining balance of the order.
3.7 Special orders. Made-to-order, custom, or non-stock items are non-cancellable once processed unless we agree in writing. Additional supplier terms may apply.
3.8 Goods are not supplied on a trial basis and cannot be returned after use.
4. Pricing and Payment
4.1 Prices shown on our website are in GBP (£) and exclude VAT unless stated. VAT is added at checkout at the applicable rate.
4.2 We reserve the right to update prices at any time and correct obvious pricing errors. If an error affects your order, we may cancel and refund the order or offer you the option to continue at the correct price.
4.3 Payment must be made in full at the time of order unless we agree otherwise in writing.
4.4 We accept payment by:
-
All major debit and credit cards via Shopify Payments
-
PayPal
-
IwocaPay (for business finance payments)
4.5 Bank transfer payments: Orders paid by bank transfer are only processed once full payment has cleared in our account. Goods will not be allocated, reserved, or dispatched until payment is confirmed.
4.6 Deposits: For special orders, bulk orders, or reserved stock, we may agree to accept a 20 percent non-refundable deposit. Deposits secure stock but are non-refundable if the order is cancelled by the customer for any reason.
4.7 If payment is not received or is later reversed (for example due to a failed transaction, bank reversal, or chargeback), we reserve the right to cancel the order
5. Product Information and Suitability
5.1 Product descriptions, specifications, images, and technical details are provided for guidance and may vary due to manufacturer updates, product improvements or model revisions.
5.2 Product images are for illustrative purposes. Colours, features, branding, or minor external differences may vary slightly from time to time.
5.3 It is your responsibility to check that the goods are suitable for your intended use, including dimensions, capacity, electrical/gas requirements, ventilation, power rating, and access to your premises. Suitability issues are not faults.
5.4 We are not responsible for any loss arising from selecting the wrong product, incorrect size, or incompatibility with your site or business setup.
6. Delivery Summary
6.1 Delivery terms are detailed in our Delivery Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
6.2 Standard delivery is kerbside only. Drivers are not insured to move goods indoors, unpack, install, or remove packaging.
6.3 Do not book installers or fitters before delivery and inspection. We are not liable for any costs arising from delayed delivery, rescheduled delivery, or courier delays.
6.4 Delivery dates are estimates only. Unexpected delays do not provide grounds to cancel the order or claim compensation.
6.5 You must provide full delivery access details at the time of order. Charges may apply for:
-
Redelivery where no one was available to receive delivery
-
Failed delivery due to restricted access
-
Incorrect delivery address or customer refusal of delivery
6.6 Delivery is deemed complete once goods are delivered to the delivery address and signed for, or photo proof of delivery is provided by the carrier.
7. Risk and Ownership
7.1 Risk transfers to you at the point of delivery. Once delivered, you are responsible for loss, theft, or damage.
7.2 Ownership of goods transfers only once full payment has been received.
7.3 You agree to keep goods safe and insured after delivery, and not to sell, transfer, or dispose of goods that have not been fully paid for.
8. Cancellations
8.1 Orders may be cancelled before dispatch with no cancellation fee, provided cancellation is requested in writing by email to info@krdcatering.com within 2 hours of placing the order.
8.2 Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation will be treated as a change of mind return. The customer may either accept the delivery and return the item at their own cost, or reject the delivery, in which case two-way delivery charges will apply. The customer will be responsible for two-way delivery charges (delivery to customer and return to our warehouse) as well as ensuring the item is returned unused and in original condition.
8.3 Refused deliveries are treated as cancellations after dispatch and will incur the same two-way delivery costs and handling charges where applicable.
8.4 Special orders and custom orders cannot be cancelled once processing has begun. Deposits paid on special orders are non-refundable.
8.5 We reserve the right to cancel any order at any time before dispatch where necessary, including in cases of pricing errors, stock issues, incorrect information supplied, risk of fraud, or abuse of staff or services.
9. Damaged Goods
9.1 All goods must be inspected upon delivery and any damage or missing parts must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with supporting photo or video evidence.
9.2 Original packaging must be retained for all damage claims. Goods without original packaging cannot be returned and may be rejected.
9.3 If goods arrive with significant damage, the delivery should be refused and reported to us immediately so that a replacement can be arranged.
9.4 Where damage is reported and verified, we will provide a replacement in the first instance. Refunds are not automatic and are only offered at our discretion.
9.5 If a customer chooses to reject a replacement and instead requests a refund, the return will be treated as a change of mind return and the customer will be responsible for return delivery charges.
9.6 Minor cosmetic marks or damage that does not affect functionality may be resolved by a partial refund or replacement part at our discretion. This is not considered grounds for a full refund.
9.7 We are not liable for damage caused after delivery, including damage caused during unpacking, installation, transport on site, or misuse.
10. Returns (Summary)
10.1 Our Returns Policy forms part of these Terms & Conditions. All returns must follow the Returns Procedure outlined there.
10.2 Returns must be requested using our returns form within 14 days of delivery. Returns outside this period will not be accepted.
10.3 Returned goods must be unused, uninstalled, undamaged, and returned in original packaging with all accessories and manuals.
10.4 Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless goods are confirmed to be faulty or damaged on arrival.
10.5 If KRD offers a repair or replacement at its cost (including arranged collection) and the customer declines this and chooses a refund instead, the return will be treated as a change-of-mind return. In these cases, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods to KRD.
10.6 KRD branded products are not subject to a restocking fee if returned unused in original packaging.
10.7 All other brands are subject to a 25% restocking fee if returned unused and in resalable condition.
10.8 Refunds are issued after inspection and may be reduced if goods show signs of use, damage, or missing parts.
10.9 If a return is rejected (used, damaged, missing packaging, hygiene issue, or outside policy), the customer must arrange collection within 7 days. After 14 days, we may dispose of the goods.
10.10 Refunds are processed within 5–10 working days after inspection, but delays may occur during busy periods or where further assessment is required.
11. Warranty
11.1 All equipment supplied by KRD Catering Equipment is covered by a 12-month parts-only warranty from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.
11.2 Within the first 14 days of delivery, any issue reported will be assessed through troubleshooting and inspection.
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, KRD Catering Equipment will attempt a repair first.
If repair is not reasonably possible, a replacement unit will be provided.
If the fault is found to be due to incorrect installation, misuse or user error, the 12-month parts-only warranty applies.
11.3 After 14 days from delivery, the warranty covers replacement parts only.
No labour, engineer call-out, travel, installation or removal costs are covered.
11.4 A qualified engineer’s report must be submitted within 30 days of the fault being reported.
The report must be on letter-headed paper, including model and serial numbers, a description of the fault, and supporting photos or video.
Claims without this documentation will be rejected.
11.5 Where a back-to-base inspection is agreed, the customer must return the item to our warehouse at their own cost. The item must be securely packaged on a pallet to prevent damage in transit.
If no manufacturing fault is found, the customer must arrange collection within 7 days of notification. If the item is not collected within that time, a storage fee of 20 percent of the item value may apply, and the item may be disposed of after 14 days.
11.6 Parts lead time: most parts are dispatched within 1–3 weeks depending on availability.
Longer times may occur for imported or manufacturer-specific components.
11.7 The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
11.8 Warranty does not cover loss of earnings, stock loss, downtime or any other indirect or consequential loss.
11.9 Warranty Fraud Clause:
Any false or misleading warranty claim, including claims where damage is caused by misuse, improper installation, poor maintenance or intentional damage, will be rejected and may result in charges to recover costs incurred.
12. Installation Requirements
12.1 All equipment must be installed by certified professionals:
• Gas appliances – Gas Safe registered engineer
• Electrical appliances – qualified electrician
• Water-fed appliances – qualified plumber
12.2 Proof of installation may be requested for warranty validation.
Failure to provide suitable evidence may void the warranty.
12.3 The customer must ensure the correct electrical supply, water pressure and ventilation are available prior to installation.
KRD Catering Equipment accepts no liability for damage caused by inadequate site services.
12.4 We are not responsible for any loss or cost arising from incorrect installation, connection, or failure to follow manufacturer instructions.
13. Liability Limitation
13.1 KRD Catering Equipment’s total liability under any contract shall not exceed the price paid for the goods.
13.2 We are not liable for:
• Loss of profits, revenue or goodwill
• Loss of stock or product spoilage
• Business interruption or downtime
• Third-party call-out or engineer costs
• Damage resulting from misuse or neglect
13.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
